Duration: 15% (9 mins / 14 mins)
  • Set up a 5x5 yard area
  • Use the 'Weighted Golden Balls'
  • Prescribe the ball mastery moves assigned to this session, or any from our ball mastery moves library
  • Remember to work both sides for technical balance

  • Each cone is numbered 1-4
  • Player starts in the centre of the box
  • Player actively works for 30 seconds at a time
  • Coach calls a number
  • Player must react and run to the number called
  • Coach should shout the next number as the player arrives at the cone – forcing the player to keep moving

  • Player starts with a countermovement
  • Coach passes into player
  • Player dribbles from one cone to the next, focusing on thechanges in speed.
  • Player should start by dribbling slow, for 3-5 yards, before accelerating and dribbling fast
  • Player performs a Change of Direction move to turn and repeat the same on the way back
  • Work both sides for technical balance

Duration: 15% (9 mins / 14 mins)
  • Player now dribbles slow until they’re in line with the mannequin and then accelerate away
  • Player must perform a stop-start move on the way back
  • Using the mannequin as a reference to a defender
Stopwatch
Duration: 20% (12 mins / 18 mins)
  • Player starts with the ball
  • Player ‘creeps’ in slowly to the mannequin
  • Player then performs a quick Attacking Move and accelerates away from the mannequin
  • Player finishes
  • Encourage the player to beat the mannequin on both sides
